New Tech Aqua (Completed)
About this project:
Partners:
- AquaCloud
- Veterinærinstituttet
- Mowi
- NMBU
- NCE Seafood Innovation
- The main goal of the NewTechAqua project is to expand and diversify European aquaculture production of finfish, molluscs, and microalgae by developing and validating technological advances and resilient and sustainable applications.
- In this project, AquaCloud supplied data to the Norwegian Veterinary Institute to improve the sea lice spread models. The model improved considerably after using AquaCloud data, which clearly shows the importance of using industry data to supply important model feedback data to avoid drift.
- The results of this work have been published in Preventive Veterinary Medicine A-salmon-lice-prediction-model_2025_Preventive-Veterinary-Medicine.pdf
- This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme under grant agreement No 862658.
Target Statement:
Expand and diversify European aquaculture by developing and validating technological advances for resilient and sustainable finfish, mollusc, and microalgae production.
Expected Result Statements:
Improve sea lice spread models using AquaCloud industry data.
Demonstrate the value of industry data in enhancing model accuracy and reducing drift.
Validate improvements through collaboration with the Norwegian Veterinary Institute.
Findings have been published in Preventive Veterinary Medicine, reinforcing scientific impact.
